The creation of Loppy Bunny Florida Farm was a result of our daughter wanting a bunny. We researched different breeds knowing that we wanted a smaller breed, that didn’t have genetic health issues. During our research our daughter saw a picture of a holland lop and fell in love with it, and when we found that Holland Lops satisfied our criteria we began our search for one. The one disappointment that we had was their living conditions at both breeders and pet stores. We ended up purchasing four bunnies instead of two because we felt that they needed to be rescued. Once we had them in our home we absolutely fell in love with their personalities and knew that we wanted to share this love with other people as we could not believe what great pets that they make. We also wanted people that have discovered them to have a place that they can get well cared for and loved bunnies. Our bunnies have free range time every day, as well as being fed an organic diet. In addition to this they are litter box trained by the time they leave our family to join yours. We also spend time holding and petting each of them daily from the time that they are two weeks old so that they are not scared of people by the time they leave our farm. Please understand that we love each of our kits and are very attached to them by the time that they are old enough to leave their mommy. Due to this fact we require everyone wanting to adopt one of our bunnies to be interviewed and we reserve the right to refuse sale if we feel that the bunny will not be going into a good environment.
Most pet owners prefer to provide a safe but roomy enclosure for their indoor bunny with the option to free roam in a room or part of the house when supervised. Tiny rabbit cages with wire floors are uncomfortable and too cramped for rambunctious bunnies who like to hop and dig. Exercise pens and dog kennels offer a flexible and relatively inexpensive rabbit habitat, or you may prefer a condo style enclosure such as KW Bunny Villas.
While bunnies are usually happiest with a bonded bunny mate, this can require considerable time and patience to achieve, and some pairs just aren't compatible living together. Learn more about bonding bunnies to decide if one or two bunnies is best for you!
